Monte Production Movie 2020

Monte Production Movie 2020

As many of you know, every two years all the Monte students participate in a whole school production. This is an event that the children spend weeks preparing for and is a wonderful community event that showcases their talent, hard work and performing arts spirit.

Unfortunately, in this COVID year, due to changes in school protocols, we are not able to take large groups to Mt Roskill Intermediate where they have kindly shared their hall and stage facilities with us in the past.

So this year we have been forced to think outside the box!

The teachers and children had already spent weeks rehearsing when we discovered we had no performance venue and, as they say in the theatre world – “the show must go on!”

So…we came up with the movie idea.

We are going to film the different group performances and acting scenes right here at school and put together our very own Movie version of this year’s school production.

This means you do still get to “see” your child perform in the school production – it will just be on a 50-ft inflatable movie screen on our school field this year!

Important dates

Tuesday 17th November: This is the one and ONLY filming day, so please make sure that your child is at school next Tuesday – we really need 100% attendance (unless of course they are very unwell).

Friday 4th December: Production Movie Night. We will be screening the Movie of the students Production in the evening. This will be a wonderful community event – there will be food, music, Kapa Haka performances and of course the Main Event, OUR PRODUCTION MOVIE.

Everybody is welcome. Please invite all your family and friends. Tickets will go on sale next week and there is plenty of room as we can spread out all over the field. Just like the city council events of ‘Movies in the Park’ that you may have been to before – this will be our own Monte version. A Movie at Monte!

HOW EXCITING!!!!
